Toddler Daycare & Early Learning – Kowhai House

A Place to Explore, Discover & Grow

Kowhai House is our welcoming and engaging learning space for our toddler tamariki. During this exciting stage of growth, children are encouraged to explore their curiosity, build confidence, develop independence and learn through meaningful play and everyday experiences.

Our spacious learning environment provides plenty of opportunities for tamariki to investigate, create, move, imagine and discover alongside their friends and caring teachers. As their confidence grows, we support each child to develop new skills, build relationships and become increasingly independent throughout their learning journey.

Learning Through Play

Play is at the heart of learning in Kowhai House. Tamariki are encouraged to explore, investigate, create and use their imagination through a range of meaningful experiences.

From sensory and messy play to music, movement, storytelling, construction and creative activities, every day brings new opportunities to discover, problem-solve and develop new skills.

Exploring Our Outdoor Environment

Kowhai tamariki enjoy access to our large outdoor environment, with plenty of opportunities to move, explore, climb, ride and discover.

Sharing this space with our older tamariki also gives children opportunities to build relationships and learn alongside children of different ages. Our outdoor environment encourages confidence, curiosity, physical development and a love for active learning.

Growing Independence

The toddler years are an exciting time of growth as tamariki begin to develop their independence and confidence.

In Kowhai House, children are encouraged to make choices, try new things and take part in everyday routines. With support from our caring teachers, they develop important skills such as communication, problem-solving, self-help skills and building positive relationships with others.
