Children are collected from all local schools and come back to KCC to enjoy their afternoon.

 

We provide, homework help, creative activities and afternoon tea in a purpose designed venue.

More Than Just After School Care

At KCC Kids Club, we want children to feel like they belong. Our programme provides a familiar and welcoming place where children can spend time with friends, explore their interests and enjoy being part of the KCC whānau.

For children continuing from our Early Learning Centre, KCC Kids Club can also provide a familiar next step as they begin their school journey.

What is an OSCAR programme?

OSCAR stands for Out of School Care and Recreation. That means we look after you before school, after school and sometimes in the holidays and we make it fun!

Is OSCAR only about playing?

At KCC, we believe it is very important for children to have a break from school and time to play, relax and socialise with their friends. Through play, children build confidence, creativity, independence and strong social connections, all while having fun!

We also provide care for children from a range of local schools, giving tamariki the opportunity to meet new friends and build stronger connections with children from different school communities.

What kinds of activities do you offer?

We offer a variety of engaging activities including:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Outdoor play
  • Sports and games
  • Lego and construction play
  • Baking and sensory activities
  • Group games and challenges
  • Holiday programme trips and special events

Children are encouraged to explore their interests, be creative and have fun!

What if my child feels nervous or shy?

That’s completely normal. Our caring teachers help children settle in, build friendships and feel comfortable at their own pace. We work hard to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for every child.

What food is provided?

We provide a healthy morning & afternoon tea during our before & after-school programme. During holiday programmes, children will need to bring their own lunch unless otherwise advised.

What if my child has allergies or medical needs?

Please let us know about any allergies, medical conditions or medications. Our teachers are trained to support children’s health and wellbeing and follow individual care plans where needed.

How are children kept safe?

Children are supervised at all times by experienced teachers. We follow safety procedures for sign in/sign out, excursions, emergency situations and daily routines to ensure all children are safe and supported.
